I recently saw an advertisement for these seed packages. The idea is that the seeds are sealed in long paper strips with a small amount of fertilizer for each seed. They are evenly spaced and one just has to dig a channel and place the paper tube into the ground with the top half above ground. As they are watered the paper degrades and the seeds begin to sprout.
